Reading Ebooks is Great but..... Are there are other options too?
Posted September 22, 2000 by epalace
As the Webmaster and Owner of The Ebook Palace. I spend a lot of time online
working on my site and looking for various new ways to improve things.
Recently while surfing the web, I came across a site about ebooks that
almost through me for a loop for the simple fact that the thought had never
occured to me.
Like everyone else who likes ebooks, I too enjoy reading a good one. But,
can you read an ebook on your computer and do other things as well? Not very
likely. I ask this question because after I visited audible.com at
http://www.audible.com, I saw ebooks in a different light.
Unlike just reading regular ebooks, I can now use Real Player
http://www.realplayer.com , or Windows Media Player http://www.msn.com,
to listen to The Wall Street Journel, Hear audio books by authors such as
Stephen King, John Grisham and even Bill Gates all while I work on designing
the Ebook Palace, responding to emails or whatever else I do.
Is this where ebooks will be going? There are already mp3 players and audio
players in the works that will hold more audio books than any handheld ebook
readers.
I think this may be something that many ebook authors should think about or
at least not forget about it anytime soon. I'd much rather listen personally
since I don't own a handheld and it offers more freedom than just reading.
If you have thoughts on the article, Please email me at
