October 31, 2000 Phoenix, AZ. Best selling E-book author Wayne Perkins has released not only a new e-book but also an entirely new concept for E-book library distribution.

"Self-publish at the Speed of Thought" is actually two e-books combined to give readers their first experience in creating e-books. This publication includes the best selling self-published title, "A Cheap and Easy Guide to Self-publishing E-books" which was a top non-fiction best seller in Rocketedition on Barnes&Noble.com.

Wayne presents step-by-step instruction on how to attain best selling e-book status using the most popular Internet bookstores. This e-book provides free resources and marketing plans, sharing the same strategies that helped him publish two best selling e-book titles and a best selling print-on-demand title. Additionally, Wayne instructs the reader on how to sell 'thoughts' via e-mail and autoresponders.

Each purchaser of the formatted CD-ROM will receive FREE World-Wide Distribution Rights to Wayne's title. This means that the reader can copy, sell or give away Wayne's work without any legal recourse.

"You buy it, you own it." claims Perkins.

"There is never enough money for education in this country. Our youth need to have access to information that will help them change or improve their lives." Wayne is taking the lead and selling e-books to libraries with the understanding that the library will purchase one copy, distribute it using the computer resources they already have. If readers take the information, copy or sell that information, there will be no copyright infringement.

"The current models for e-books don't take into consideration that we already have enough computer resources to guarantee thousands of free e-books for libraries and schools. We can guarantee distribution to poor people without taking away earnings from authors.

"The only people earning money from publishing today are the large publishing houses. Now is the time for change. By changing the way we look at e-book publishing and distributing e-books to people that really need them, we can help those less fortunate, as well as raise the level of human understanding. We all become richer in the process."

"Self-publish at the Speed of Thought," ISBN 192969525X, is available on CD-ROM formatted in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Reader with Cleartype and Adobe. It can be purchased directly from Wayne F. Perkins ePublishing or from Amazon.com.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Question 1: Won't selling only one copy of your e-book to a library only hurt your own personal income?

Answer: Personal income isn't everything. Authors sell their books to libraries because they are great places for people to get to read the author's works. Also, there is a feeling of giving something back to a community. By selling "Self-publish at the Speed of Thought" into libraries I allow them to take liberties in distributing my work to their patrons. Librarians won't have become the copyright police for e-book companies. They won't have to become cryptographers. Librarians can spend time doing the job they were hired for. At the same time the library patron can take the e-book file and save it on his/her own personal computer. If he/she wants to sell it or give it away to others, that is fine with me. Wouldn't it be wonderful if that reader could create his/her own bestseller from the model I present!

All libraries need authors' and publishers' help in order to survive. In my e-book, "Self-publish at the Speed of Thought," I detail where libraries and individuals can find over 5,000 free e-books that can be downloaded to traditional personal computers. Most of these e-books are classics that I was required to read while growing up.

Question 2: What format do you offer your e-book?

"Self-publish at the Speed of Thought" is offered in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Reader, Adobe PDF, ASCII text and HTML. When you purchase the book you receive 5 different file formats.

By offering the e-book in multiple formats, the library is assured of having a variety of ways of distributing the files. The library can load my CD-ROM onto their server and allow the reader to pick the format that works best, based on the physical equipment and software on hand at the library or the library patron's home.

Question 3: Does the library need to purchase a dedicated e-book-reading device?

Most libraries already have enough computers to allow patrons to read e-books at their facilities. They do not have to depend on a costly dedicated piece of equipment, which can become lost or stolen. The library can use its current resources in delivering the book to the library patron. Potentially, the librarian could send the e-book files to library patrons using e-mail attachments. What a great way of distributing the book. The library can even piggyback its own attachment to the e-mail announcing book signings, events, or library policies. Sending e-mail is free so it won't cost the libraries or the taxpayer any additional funds.

By issuing everyone "Free World-Wide Distribution Rights" to my work, the librarian no longer has to worry about the patron bringing the file back or if the library patron is going to copy the file and sell it.

Question Four: How does the library or an individual purchase the e-book?

"Self-publish at the Speed of Thought" includes two e-books in five formats on CD-ROM. The ISBN is 192969525X and the price including free world-wide distribution Rights is $50.00

It can be purchased directly from Wayne F. Perkins ePublishing via phone, fax or e-mail; or exclusively from Amazon.com at:
